On May 7th in 1937, Bausch & Lomb received the patent for the first Ray-Ban Aviator. They had developed sunglasses for pilots on behalf of the US Army. In 1952, G15 glasses were use in the model Wayfarer first. Since it is standard. The Ray-Ban Wayfarer gained its fame by the use in the movies Blues Brothers and Miami Vice. Distinctive feature is the lettering on the right lens. A small branded BL at the edge of the glasses represents the originality of vintage Ray-Ban sunglasses.
